Biography

In 1998 Kevin worked as studio musician in Amsterdam, the Netherlands where he's recorded several demo tapes with Kenji Hino on bass and Mikkel Brink on drums. The band formed when Matej Batelic joined Kevin and Mikkel. They immediately had a short tour in the US and recorded the whole album with Peer Rave and Matthijs van der Speck. Right afterwards Mikkel decided to return home to Denmark and Kevin came back to Slovenia where a new chapter began for the band. Debut album Seven Days was released in 2005 by CPZ Rec. and it quickly drew attention, Tide became a new rising rock group in Slovenia. They performed in practically all clubs and festivals around the country, including Exit festival in Serbia in 2006. Videos for “Release My Gun” and “Evolution” received a heavy rotation on MTV Adria and were included in the music chart World Chart Express - MTV Europe. Tide supported Iron Maiden in Ljubljana and were nominated for MTV - New Sounds of Europe award in 2007. In the summer of 2007, the album “Nothing to Lose” was recorded in Markant Recording Studios close to Eindhoven, the Netherlands. “Nothing to Lose” spawned the first radio hits for the band including “Waiting for the rain” which gave Tide more media exposure and the opportunity to perform even more.

In December 2008 after the conclusion of the Nothing to Lose tour Kevin took a break and went to Amsterdam for nearly a year where he wrote and recorded all the material for the latest album called “Regeneration”. Two new members Tine Cas on the guitar and Anze Zurbi on the drums joined Tide after Kevin returned to Slovenia once again. Regeneration is the most personal, melodic, mature and emotional recording until now. In Slovenia it was released in October 2009. After the first song and video from “Regeneration” entitled “Adieu” was released in Slovenia, Tide received an invitation from the German record label Antstreet Rec. to release their new album also in Europe. “Regeneration” was released in April 2010 in Germany, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark, Norway and the United Kingdom. Just after the release of their second single “You” Tide went on “Regeneration” club tour in Slovenia.

The band has been known for its excellent live performances. In summer 2010, the band performed for the second time on the biggest festival event in Eastern Europe, the Exit Festival in Serbia. They also played all other important festivals in Slovenia. Tide’s latest video for the song “To be your lover” was recorded live in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
