TIDE is a Slovenian
rock band that formed in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, in 1998. The
band consists of Kevin Newman Koradin (vocals, guitar and keybords),
Matej Batelic (bass guitar), Tine Čas (guitar) and Anže Žurbi
(drums).
In 1998 Kevin worked as studio musician in Amsterdam, Netherlands
where he created demo tapes with Kenji Hino on bass and Mikkel Brink
on drums. The band formed when Matej Batelic joined Kevin and Mikkel.
They immediately had a short tour in the US and recorded the whole
album with Peer Rave and Matthisj van der Speck right after. Mikkel
decided to return home to Denmark and Kevin came back to Slovenia
where a new chapter for Tide began.
Debut album Seven Days was released in 2005 by CPZ Rec. and quickly
drew attention becoming a new rising rock group in Slovenia. Tide
performed in practically all clubs and festivals in Slovenia,
including Exit festival in Serbia in 2006. Videos for Release My Gun
and Evolution had heavy rotation on MTV Adria and were also
included into the music charts World Chart Express - MTV Europe.
Tide supported Iron Maiden in Ljubljana and were nominated for MTV -
New Sounds of Europe award in 2007.
In summer 2007 album Nothing to Lose was recorded in Markant
Recording Studios close to Eindhoven. Nothing to Lose spawned the
first radio hits for the band including ''Waiting for the rain'' and
gave Tide the opportunity to perform even more.
In December 2008 after the conclusion of the Nothing to Lose concert
dates Kevin took a break and went to Amsterdam for a year where he
wrote and recorded all the material for the latest album called
Regeneration. Two new members Tine Čas on the guitar and Anže Žurbi
on the drums joined Tide after Kevin returned to Slovenia once
again. Regeneration is the most personal, melodic, mature and
emotional album until now and the band that has been known for its
excellent live performances is now ready to tour and hit the road
once again.
